Ali: One Sunday, I went ice skating with three friends, and there were also many Germans from Timişoara. Many of them were Hitlerites, wearing brown and ties, with Hakenkreuz, swastika. A group of Germans attacked us. Among those at the rink was a German soldier, originally from Timişoara, with whom I grew up in the same house. He was in an SS formation and was completing his military service in Belgrade. He had come home to visit his parents, and he also came to skate. When that jostling between the local Germans and us started, this guy saw me, stepped in, and chased them away! (We laugh). They were anti-Semites, but each had his own Jew.
